Life at awali

Developed in the 1930s by Bapco, the Awali Township is populated by locals and expatriates from around the world. It was one of the first places in the Kingdom to welcome a modern culture and is like a mini Bahrain within Bahrain. As a Bapco employee and especially one living in Awali one automatically feels welcomed into its large multi-cultural family community.

Awali is designed as a self-contained, self-sufficient compound which makes daily living and adapting to Bahrain a breeze. Furthering Bapco’s commitment to its employees, Awali also houses a branch of Bahrain’s first locally owned bank, the National Bank of Bahrain.

Awali hospital

Bapco opened Awali Hospital over 6 decades ago with a view to providing employees with exceptional health care. Over the years the hospital has evolved and expanded into a modern facility keeping pace with the latest in medical care to suit the needs of Bapco employees.

The Awali Hospital with 25 beds, is dedicated to providing affordable, patient-focused care to all Bapco employees and to members of the local community, with an emphasis on quality services. Highly qualified physicians and surgeons are available to serve both inpatients and outpatients from Bapco and the general public.

There is rarely ever a need to visit another hospital as all the major fields of medicine are catered to at the hospital including gynecology, obstetrics, pediatrics, cardiology, dermatology, Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT), gastroenterology and dentistry. In addition, the Hospital also provides: x-rays, physiotherapy, cosmetic laser services, dietetics, pharmacy  and laboratory services.

Over the years the Hospital has earned a well-respected reputation while modern facilities and a dedicated staff create a professional yet friendly atmosphere.
